I know I have mentioned it before, and for those of you who know me, you’ll know that skiing does not come naturally to me and I find it a HUGE challenge. So, as we set off for Val d’Isere in the early hours of the morning on the Thursday before Easter, I was a little bit apprehensive. That said, I am pleased to report that I did some of my best ever skiing out there and even managed to nail the women’s downhill Olympic run. My first ever red run!
I was quickly reminded that there is more to a ski resort than skiing. I had forgotten how delicious the hearty meals were, how homely the smell of timber burning on a log fire could be, and how fresh and crisp the mountain air was. The beautiful mountain scenery is enough to delight even the most pessimistic skier, including me! With the camaraderie of our mates, I embraced our ski-cation and had an epic time. I hope you enjoy this week’s vlog of the highlights from our amazing trip.
